Accessibility Statement

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That is a target we design and build against rather than a certification we hold, and we treat any barrier someone reports as a defect worth fixing.

• A skip-to-content link as the first thing a keyboard user reaches.
• One clear H1 per page, with headings in a logical order beneath it.
• Visible focus outlines on every interactive element, in brand green against the dark background.
• Text and interface colours checked for contrast against the near-black background.
• Every image and icon either carries a text alternative or is hidden from assistive technology when decorative.
• Forms with real labels, inline error messages, and errors announced rather than shown by colour alone.
• Full keyboard operability, including the menu, the forms and the opening animation, which can be skipped with Escape.
• Layouts that reflow to 320px and support browser zoom without loss of content.

The site uses animation, including an opening sequence and scroll-triggered reveals. If your device is set to reduce motion, we respect that: the opening animation is skipped entirely and transitions are reduced to near-instant.

You can turn that on in your operating system's accessibility settings - it is called “Reduce motion” on macOS and iOS, and “Show animations” on Windows. The opening animation can also be dismissed at any point by clicking, tapping, or pressing Escape.

We would rather name these than claim the site is perfect:

• The performance charts on the results page convey trends visually. Every figure they show is also given as text in the surrounding tiles and the location table, but the charts themselves are not fully explorable with a screen reader.
• The bot check on our forms is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile. It is designed to be accessible and usually requires no interaction, but it is third-party and outside our direct control. If it blocks you, email or WhatsApp us instead and we will pick it up.
• We have tested with keyboard navigation and automated tooling, but not yet with a full range of assistive technologies.

If you can, tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what got in the way, plus the browser and any assistive technology you use. That usually turns a report into a fix.

We aim to reply within five working days.

This is a private-sector website and is not subject to the public sector accessibility regulations. We are, however, bound by the Equality Act 2010, and we take reports seriously on that basis. If you are not satisfied with how we respond, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service.
